I am interested in the “ambiguous relationship” between the painted signifier and the linguistic signifier in our history of abstract painting. I look to Christopher Wool, Gerhard Richter, Suzanne McClelland, Derrida, Freud, Deleuze, Rorschach, Bruce Conner, Bell Hooks, as well as others for inspiration. My interest in dealing with this relationship comes from my understanding of the complicated battle of language and creative process of painting.
