“We needn’t accomplish great thing, we only need to accomplish little things that make us feel better or not so bad.” -Charles Bukowski I rely on the human figure for subject, but what is more important is how these figures are painted. My paint is limply and quickly applied. I am looking for a balance between the subject and infinite way of applying oil paint. Nothing can be forced, it has to flow. I can’t paint tediously. It would drive me insane and it is avoiding the insane which brings me to painting. Paintings may seem meaningless to some, but they prove to me that there is something on this earth worth sticking around for. This brings me hope in the face of death and despair.
