Rochester, NY—Artist Jane Notides-Benzing’s instillation evokes a playful intermingling of colors and shimmers in Within_Without.  The exhibition opens Friday, March  9th at the Rochester Contemporary (RoCo)’s Member’s Lab Space.

Through materials and space Notides-Benzing has transformed the speeding pace of today’s commercial messages to a slower, lingering message.  This message is twisted, suspended, and looped with rhythms of color that strike imagination to the viewer.  Notides-Benzing feels “delight in the aesthetics of color, light, and form.”  Within_Without has a powerful impact once immersed within the environment.

Within_Without will be on display until April 8th, 2007.  Reception will be on Friday, March 9th from 7 to 10 pm.   Gallery hours are Wednesday thru Sunday 1 to 5 pm.
