Scapes features electronic media artworks that relate the human body and the landscape. This new exhibition will present works by Jason Bernagozzi (Rochester) , Debora Bernagozzi (Rochester), Sterz (Rochester) and Jamie Hahn (Spokane, WA) that offer unique human-landscape interactions. The artists in the exhibition have draw upon natural settings, body forms and other sources while challenging the practices and technologies of electronic media.

More about Form: Data: Form (opening night performance by Jason Bernagozzi @ 8pm, Friday October 7th)

Form: Data: Form is a series of real-time high definition video performances that investigate the thin line between representation and interpretation in the digital realm. By using custom-made software, Bernagozzi abstracts the live video image of his body and surrounding artifacts, separating the lines of video into a flowing topographical landscape. The dialogue that unfolds between signal and data reflects the ongoing negotiation people have to their surroundings, their sense of language, and ability to understand change over time. The newest iteration of Form: Data: Form #8, will explore the tension between visual, written and spoken language and will be performed and recorded live during the Scapes opening on Friday, October 7th @8pm.

Dancescapes
Choreographers and dancers from the region (representing Buffalo, Brockport, and Rochester) will respond to the Scapes show with live improvised or structured dance, creating a moving and perhaps, spoken dialogue with the art work. Come experience the combination and culmination of inspiration, process, and performance of art in motion. Performers will include: Heather Roffe/FuturPointe Dance, Missy Pfhol Smith/BIODANCE, Mariah Maloney, Nakita Mone, Nanako Horikawa, among others.
