Artist & Curator Talk with RG Miller

August 30, 6pm

In honor of R. G. Miller, Indigenous Haudenosaunee sovereignty and survivance, join the artist and the curator Neal Keating in a public talk about the exhibition, residential schools, genocidal destruction, historical trauma, artistic transgression, unsilencing, and truth in painting. Miller and Keating started collaborating in this project in 2007. We will discuss Miller’s Mush Hole art relative to his greater oeuvre in post-expressionist portraiture and landscape painting (starting in the ‘80s). Time permitting will touch upon the curatorial challenges to both interpreting and showing the exhibit publicly in Canada and the US today.
