Shibori: The Transformation of Fabric

September 16, 1983 - November 4, 1983

Shibori: The Transformation of Fabric is an international exhibition of Shibori, a decorative cloth dyeing technique developed in Japan. Traditionally used for Kimono fabrics, Shibori incorporates stitched and pleated patterns before the fabric is immersed in dye. 15 artists from the US and Japan are included in this traveling exhibition of fiber works.
