About 6×6 Art Making Parties and 6×6 Make Art Day

Each year, thousands of artists from around the world come together to support Rochester Contemporary Art Center through 6x6, our beloved small-art fundraising exhibition. We invite artists, organizations, educators, businesses, and community groups to take part and help spread the word. Read more on the main 6x6 website: roco6x6.org

There are many ways to support 6x6! You could host an art-making party, share our call for artists in your newsletter, tell all your friends, or post about 6x6 on social media. However you choose to engage, your participation helps make this exhibition possible.

Host a 6x6 Art-Making Party

Art-making parties are a fun, creative way to bring people together while supporting 6x6. Parties can be:
• A few friends around a table
• A creative break with coworkers or students
• A planned and promoted public event
If you’re interested in hosting a public art-making party, let us know! RoCo can help promote your event and provide pre-cut 6x6 boards, entry forms, and helpful guidelines and information

6x6 Party Requirements

To be officially recorded as a 6x6 party, please meet the following requirements:
• Submit at least 20 artworks by April 4
(or postmarked by April 7)
• Each participant may create up to 4 artworks
• Artwork must be signed on the back only
• Include one entry form per artwork
• Mail or deliver all artworks together and note that they were created as part of a party
• When artworks arrive together, they will be displayed together in the exhibition

6x6 Make Art Day: March 6

The First Friday of March is 6x6 Make Art Day, a day when many art-making parties take place and are promoted together. While parties can happen at any time that works best for you, hosting on March 6 allows your event to be part of a larger, shared celebration.

6x6x2026 & the Flower City Logo

For 6x6x2026, RoCo is excited to partner with the City of Rochester to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Flower City logo. Artists are invited to optionally incorporate the Flower City logo into their 6x6 artworks. Logo-inspired pieces will be installed together as a special section of the exhibition, celebrating a symbol that Rochesterians know and love. Participation in the theme is optional—artists are welcome to submit work in any style or subject.
