About the Artists (left to right)

Rochester native, Rafael Rodriguez, is a self taught artist who has found a true passion in film photography. Engaging various subject matter, Rafael produces captivating images that speak to his audience and express his unique perspective. His work has been published in City magazine, and exhibited at javas and Frank’s Chop Shop.

Shamar Brown a.k.a. Gnarley Brown, is a photographer based in Rochester, NY who captures the essence of life through his film camera. Shamar has been capturing portraits of local artist and events for about 7 years now. His work naturally catches people in their element. Brown’s work has been displayed at the UUU art gallery and Frank’s Chop Shop where he has exhibited portraits of artist and friends from Rochester and in NYC.

Rudy Fabre is a photographer based in Rochester, NY. While Rudy captures anything that catches his eye, he is most well-known for his creative and surprising portraits. Starting photography in late summer of 2020 Fabre has already collaborated with UUU Art Collective, City Mag, Rochester Contemporary Art Center, and In This Moment. He has also worked with locals like The Lucky Flea, Staple Vintage, Oulchi, No Blam & many more of Rochester’s talents.

Public Art at RoCo

RoCo’s public art program enlivens the East Avenue neighborhood with temporary, site-specific public sculptures and special projects. Support provided by The New York State Council on the Arts, Farash Foundation, Mary S. Mulligan Charitable Trust, The County of Monroe, The Gouvernet Arts Fund, and Members of RoCo! Presented next to RoCo in the Cooney Family Garden in partnership with Christ Church.
